Our project aims to address critical housing needs within the Ucluelet community by providing a diverse range of housing options, including attainable homeownership, affordable rentals, market rentals, and waterfront homes. Additionally, the project will include a commercial precinct to enhance community access to essential services and foster economic growth. This development is thoughtfully designed to support a vibrant and sustainable community for generations to come.
Showcasing our patented innovation in manufacturing the SmartZone at the heart of the home in an all-weather facility. This manufactured core is delivered to site as a simple plug-and-play unit, reducing the need for skilled trades. The volumetric space is assembled around this core in record time, creating a home of generous space, not hindered by the compact box of modular homes asking residents to compromise their space and lifestyle to obtain the speed benefits of modular construction. Through the relentless pursuit of improvement, we have redefined hybrid construction, eliminating the downside of space limits that modular construction has long required residents to compromise.
The focus is on providing attainable housing to restore the dream of home ownership at almost 50% below market sale values, and options for ‘mortgage-helper’ studios to help offset repayments for even greater affordability. Rental housing is given priority as a new community asset in this masterful design to meet the urgent needs of Ucluelet residents, while preserving the area’s natural beauty.
This initiative, led by the ERIF Not-for-Profit Housing Association, is our way of supporting the community, particularly in light of the cancellation of BC Housing’s affordable homeownership program. By balancing affordable and market rental apartments, we aim to alleviate Ucluelet’s housing challenges, create opportunities for business expansion, and foster community growth.
